What kind of USB cable do I need to hook up a Linksys 802.11b 2.4 GHz Wireless USB adapter to my pc?

I just bought one on ebay but it didn’t come with a usb cable so I need to make sure I buy the right one. I am hooking it up to an emachines desktop computer.
It isn’t one that you can just plug into the usb port on my computer. You have to have a usb cable to connect the adapter to the computer.

You shouldn’t need a USB cable to connect to your computer. use it just like a flash drive.

USB connectors are standardized. By appearance, there’s only one kind available, but they can come in different lengths. Old USB cables may not be able to handle the newer USB 2.0 (available since 2000) connection speeds. But if you go to the big stores, they should only sell USB cables that supports USB 2.0.

A USB cable has a Type A connector on one end (flat connector, fits into the USB receptacle of your PC) and a Type B connector (looks sort of like the cross-section of a train car). There should be a receptacle in your USB adapter that can receive the Type B connector.
