does it depend on the computers wireless card?
cuz i have a 54mbps wireless router, and card.
when i connect it through wires to my computer, its faster than with wireless.
do you think its my wireless card?
its a belkin f5d7051, maybe its a bit old or somethin
thanks?

No matter how good wireless technology gets, a good old wired connection will always be faster. It’s not your equipment, just the nature of wireless connectivity.
Wired will always be faster than wireless. You wired card is probably 100Mbs. New computers have gigabet speed cards (1000 Mbs). I think wireless cards can do 108Mbs, but wired will always be faster because their is only one path and usually no encryption. (Wireless is usually encrypted because it is broadcasted and anyone can capture those packets.
At this time wired is faster; typically the LAN speed on a wired LAN is 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps. The best you can do on a wireless is 54 Mbps.
Now your internet speed is no where near this speed, with very few people with an internet speed of 10 Mbps (usually broadband ranges from 0.768 to 8 Mbps depending upon connection type). Clearly LAN speed, wireless or wired, is faster than Internet speed.
