My wireless seems to be slow, while my friend, who has a Dell, running Windows Vista, seems to get much faster wireless, and were using the same wireless connection?
My computer is about 2 years older than his, could this be the problem?

It is possible that your card is older, and transfers information in wireless B rather than Wireless G. Or, it could be that you are further away from the wireless router and he is closer therefor having a stronger connection.
Yes. The main factor is the speed of the Internet Service Provider and the connection.
there is b and the newer faster G. G is ten times faster that sounds great, but unless you have a fiber optic cable or T1 line running to your house, you aren’t going to notice a difference on your internet connection. The older slower B standard is still faster than a cable or dsl connection. The only time you are going to see an advantage with the g cards is when you have two computers on the same network (at the same physical location) communicating with each other.
