What are good, fast, but limited range wireless router?

I want a wireless router that is fairly fast but don’t have a big range.

I don’t want my signal to reach my neighbors or any street hackers. I have about a 5,000 square foot house and don’t plan on using the computer outside.

Are there any wireless routers like this?

All of them. When you set up a router you should be using the “hide” and “encrypt” settings so your neighbors can’t see or access your signal.

Street hacking is possible only because there are a lot of morons out there who don’t read the instructions.

They’re all gonna reach your neigbors, but what you can do is set a password on your router. I have a linksys its not bad at all. Easy to setup, our neighbors in range also have passwords on their so we can’t access theirs. But yeah just buy a linksys and while your using the installation CD the option of a password should show up.

Yes, read the instructions like the above answers. Also, some routers let you adjust the strength of the signal. Usually 3 levels. (only useful if you are close and want to use less energy or concerned about health risks)
