WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), is a telecommunications wireless network that allow for high speed internet. It works like Cell Phone internet, except that it is faster and meant for computers.
It will not be free, and will soon be available from Sprint’s XOHM network. Coverage will be based on Sprint’s use of towers, so expect Cell Phone-like coverage.
