can the type of wireless router you buy effect how fast your high speed internet is? we have a standard microsoft router. and we pay for the 60$ a month internet from cox which is faster than their premium service even. its 25mbps download and 2.5mbps upload. however our internet does not seem much faster than when we paid for the 45$ internet. could this be our router only allows it to be so fast? what router should we buy for speed? 1 comment to can the type of wireless router you buy effect how fast your high speed internet is? |

Well, not all the time. I had Qwest DSL 1.5 mbps a couple of months ago. Switched to comcast 12mbps LAN, and it does not seem much faster. The router does not influence your speed that much. You could try to get one at Office Depot, its like 20 bucks. Try your internet speed at speedtest.net. This way you can figure out your internet speed and compare it to your previous one. I dont think its the router though…
