my router has a 63 digit security key ( wpa2 )
with technology being the way it is today is that even considered good?
i do know a lot of secure sites use 128 bit encryption, so how safe is a 63 digit key of random letters and numbers??

mine is i think 256 bit (or whatever the WPA is) and it isnt unsafe.
at the end of the day it will take a good hacker at least a few hours to get in-provided you have a firewall and antvirus you should be fine. also make sure you enable mac adress filtering (not sure myself what that is -just heard it somewhere).
128bit is definitely better but if you are going to use the net for purchases/shopping…
64 bit is still ridiculously safe. 2 raised to the 63th power is:
9,223,372,036,854,775,808
If a hacker were to try a trillion combination per second it would take 292 years to go through all of the combinations. If it was only 1,000,000 combination per second, it would take 292,000,000 years.
Depends on what neighbours you have.If they are skilled enough, your key can be decrypted in a few hours by sniffering the packets. But also 128 bits, so it depends.
63 bits it’s sure enough for home use.
