how can i do port forwarding in a wireless network if i dont know the wireless router being used?

I live in an apartment complex with free wireless internet. Direct downloads from web pages are fast, however when i use limewire or bit comet downloads are very slow and the programs take alot of time to connect. Direct downloads from web pages download up to 600kb/s but using these programs they barely even download. I think i have to do port forwarding or something like that but i dont know what router its being used or anything like that. What can i do to help these programs connect and download like they should? and also web pages sometime load fast and sometime take alot of time, why might that be?

you need to do this manually from the router’s web control panel. this web control panel’s address is typically 192.168.1.1, if not check your gateway address on connection status window.
