generally wired is faster because its a direct connection but i have used wireless for 2 years now and am very happy with it. My gaming experience hasnt changed alot and my ping stays under 150 so im generally happy, so it will slow yes but not alot, your download speed for example will go from say 20kb/ps to about 10kb/ps and about the same difference with the upload speed. and it doesnt really matter that you are changing from wired to wireless your computer will accept the wireless just as it would wired therefore youll be fine, just connect it all up ok and youll be fine.
