What is the best wireless router for gaming?

I am using a Xbox 360, and i’d like to obviously connect to Live. I have the fastest inetrnet service i could find. So should I directly hook up the xbox and then route off to my computer? Either way I hook it up, I of course am wanting optimal speed on both sides as much as possible. If I have to choose I would want the 360 to have the most. What should I invest into that will give me the best performance? Yet within $150 range?

as somone that games i wouldn’t get a wireless router for it. i know its convenient but i think drop in speed at some points and also the possible lost of wireless signal are to much of a risk when gaming online. i’d suggest you have it wired so u can have optimum speed.

if u do go wireless get a wireless N router since they give off a stronger and more reliable signal. those tend to be under 150 depending on the brand. linksys would be my brand of choice

Try doing a web search, as this question has be answered hundreds of times. You will certainly find more answers that way as well. If you add 2009 to the search, it will help get more updated results. The search below is for: best router for xbox 360 2009.

Feel free to get a wireless router, as at some point you may want to hook up wireless devices. However, you will typically get better performance with a wired connection. You can use wired connections on wireless routers.

    hi 0
well, i agreed that the lan solution is better than the wlan, less problems, less lag of connectivity,
and now, what devices you have, if you have a gateway or normal modem or even router wireless or lan router all what you need is to check if there is an empty LAN port, if you found an empty port just buy LAN cable also called (Cat5 or RJ-45),
NOTE : BEFORE YOU CONNECT THE CABLE TURN OFF BOTH THE COMPUTER THE ROUTER/SWITCH AND THE XBOX
if there no empty LAN port available you have to go to your internet provider ask theme to change your device with the 1 that have additional lan ports

also for more and better info. check the link bellow
