Is there a way to lock my Vista laptop without going to login screen? Is there a way to lock my Vista laptop without going to login screen? I’m basically asking for a program that will lock the computer, but still keep the wifi connections connected. Press the windows key and L at the same time. It locks the computer and keeps all programs running and connected. You will need to type the password in again to resume if the account has a password. It will look like a log on screen but if you read closely it says the computer is in use and can only be unlocked by the user who locked it (or a hard restart).
