Is there a way to text from a computer?

I don’t want to have to be on internet explorer because it is blocked on my computer but is there some type of computer program that will work. I have WiFi on my computer and my parents said that if i could find a legit program to text from my computer I can use it.

    I do it all the time from my laptop to my sisters cell phone she has unlimited texting on her cell phone…

    Just so you know if you are sending from your computer it will not cost you the computer user anything but if you friends who you are sending to does not have unlimited it might get costly for them but this is how you can do it for free…

    what I use is yahoo messenger I have sent to altell and verizon wireless I think you can even send to us cellular but I’m not shore I have never sent there before…

    all you need to do is download yahoo messenger from here.http://messenger.yahoo.com/

    once you download the yahoo messenger for free what you need to do is sign in to the messenger then go to the top and click on (actions) its next to (contacts) once you click on actions you need to go to (send an msm message) then click from the contact list the one you want to send message to if there are no numbers or names in the list just go to (other contact tab) and then enter the cell phone number I can enter it 2 ways with just the ###-#### or the area code with it like this (###)###-#### but anyway like I said above if they don’t have unlimited or anything like a major texting plan the bill for texting will go up fast…
