I don’t know if its possible but I used to have a laptop and I sold it but kept this card. I need to hook it up to a desktop but don’t know how. I need help because i’m moving and my apartment comes with wireless. All i have though is a desktop. Is it possible to use this wireless card with my desktop?

My school suggests getting the Linksys WRT54G to use in the dorms, but I’ve noticed on various websites that the Linksys WRT54G has Wireless-G capabilities with little or no mention of Wireless-B. My laptop has a 802.11b wireless card, so does anyone know whether my wireless card will work with the router? (I don’t know how wireless works, so I apologize if this question sounds dumb.)

I just recently bought a THINKPAD Z60M.

Hi,

My laptop (HP Pavilion) comes with LAN Express IEEE 802.11 PCI adapter. I want to buy a router and have been trying to find the appropriate one for my wireless hardware. Most of the routers I find, say that they support 802.11a/b/g networks.. Will these work for my hardware?

If not, which router can I buy which will work for my laptop?
I was trying to use my friend’s linksys router ( don’t know other specifications of this router), but I was not able to install it on my laptop. It says computer hardware does not support it..
So I will have to buy a router that is compatible with the hardware that I have.

I want a fast laptop (fast startup, shutdown, and program opening) that can also do fairly well with games (far cry, half life 2, maybe even fear) not the newest stuff but games around that generation.
