I am looking into getting a new laptop. I am comparing two models, one says “Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n ” and the other says “Wireless 802.11b/g.”
What do these things mean, what do they do, and which is better?
The models I am looking at are: HP Pavilion DV6751US and HP Pavilion dv9812us. Thank you.
In my specs it shows that i have IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g . I know that G is faster, but how do I have both of them, and how can I change it from either b to G?

at least 533MHz of memory speed
250GB or more hard drive

So does that mean it is built in with the 802.11b/g wireless card?
I have a wireless Router From Netgear, Model# WGU624 and my XBOX 360 has the wireless game adapter attached to the back of the 360. My signal strength is pretty low, but I only have one wall in the way, so it shouldn’t be losing strength from that. I think it should be 802.11a instead [...]
I have an 802.11b usb modem thing and I have a router that is “…”g. If I set it to “run” at only 802.11b will it change the performance? Like what I want to know is if because the router is running at two speeds does that slow down overall performance?

I want design an application in C#.NET that will manage wireless signals from wireless devices based on IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards, and from where I download or attain required API.
I bought this on ebay and ofcourse it did not come with a disk. My computer can’t pick it up automatically. Does anyone know where I can download this driver? It’s a IEEE 802.11b DSSS high speed standard wireless network adapter.
Thanks!!
I have another laptop that finds it and connects fine. My new laptop can see other networks, just not my own home wireless network. My wireless router is several years old and the wireless card on my laptop is a Broadcom 4322AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter. The new laptop is a HP Tx2z series.
