I have two computers on my home network, a desktop that is connected to the router by ethernet cable, and a laptop that is connected to the router wirelessly. The Internet is faster on the laptop. Why is that so, since both use the same modem?

I’m trying to get my desktop and laptop on my wireless network using the mac filter…i can get my laptop to work but not the desktop.
