I’ll teach you how to secure your home wireless or wired routers from the internet and networking security threats. Using my Trendnet router, but it should not be very different securing your brand of wireless password. To login to your router, use your web browser to log in to your router’s control panel. The default user name and password is usually admin and admin. The first thing you want to do is change the login password for your wireless or wired network router’s admin account to a password which is hard to guest like P@Nzy$!88 which has two of every type of character (UPPERCASE,lowercase, $ymbols, Number2) which is a lot more secure then admin! This will prevent people from messing around with your router’s settings. To keep your wireless or wired network safe: you need to disable SSID broadcast, make a WPA or WPA2 password which is hard to guest like Cr@c3rS!. Try to avoid WEP unless your PC is too old to support WPA or WPA2 encryption since WEP is better then no protection, but it is easy to hack! You can also change your subnet IP, assign static IP to your pcs and disable DHCP which is not very practical in a home environment, so I did not mention it in my video. You can also decrease your Wi-Fi antenna output power and range,so people can not detect your wireless network from outside your home. However, this can decrease your wireless networks performance. Make sure your router’s NAT firewall is turned on/enabled. You can use URL blocking, Keyword blocking, IP …
