I’ve currently got a University project in which we’ve been asked to use wifi monitoring software to see local wireless networks and monitor their status and stats such as “secure” or “unsecured”, signal strength, router/network name etc. I would like either some free to try or shareware software which does all these, similar to Apple’s AirPort [...] So I heard that there is wifi sniffer software that can work in conjunction with a gps reciever in order to triangulate and pinpoint where the access point is at. Anyone know any names of some good software to try? I have a computer having the following configuration.
