my laptop has always been hooked up using an ethernet jack on a pcm whatever card..if i put a usb wifi antenna on it and install the software will it work on win98? or do they only work on xp computers?

Is there any trick, hack, or any free software that will help access internet through locked WiFi port for an IPhone or Laptop? If you got any answer then please share it here. Thanks. Direct downloads from web pages download up to 600kb/s but using these programs they barely even download.
