Is there any software to increase your wireless antenna range?

I’ve been looking for any software, and i mean software not hardware, that can help me change the default of my wifi antenna, i heard that its default its only the 50% and i want 100%
well, if its electric based, is there any thing that i can use to increase the energy to that port alone?

is there any software u can downlaod for the psp to increase the wifi range?

If a wifi transmittor from an omni antenna has a 50meter range, how much might that be reduced by a brick wall in that direction.

I mean would it reduce it to say 30meters the other side of the wall, or not that much?

I do not understand computers and their language so please give clear simple answers.

I live next to free wifi, but I am just out of range to pick it up from inside my house. Is there something I can buy that will attach to my computer to help extend the range it can connect to? There are trees between me and the signal, would that matter?

I’m planning on buying a wireless router for my home sometime this month. After looking through the Best Buy website, I’ve decided on buying either a Netgear or Linksys router; definitely leaning toward the Netgear one mostly because of aesthetics.

I’m wondering what the range is on the Netgear G router from Best Buy (link below):

I have tried searching for this on the Netgear site, but they didn’t post it. It’s supposedly recommended for small homes or apartments. I’m not sure what their definition of “small home” is. Mine is about 3100 sq ft.

Broadcast 802.11g long range?

hello, i were wandering if it would be possible to broadcast my 802.11g as far as possible so neighbors could get access to my media server with there standard wifi recivers. i plan on doing this by having a high gain signal for outgoing and sensitive reviver for incoming, boosting range.

also, don’t say its impossible because Ermanno Pietrosemoli and EsLaRed of Venezuela did a wifi connection 382 km (237 mi) in June 2007

If I have a wireless access point that supports 802.11n and 802.11g modes, and I use a 802.11g device, will I be able to benefit from the extra range that an 802.11n router provides? Or, is that range specific to the use of the 802.11n protocol?

I am an American living in Thailand, and the Thai Internet makes the dial-up I used to have back home seem unbelievably fast and wonderful. I would like to buy a router and have it shipped here.

What is the fastest, longest range, wifi router that I can buy online, which website sells it, and does it ship to Thailand?

Ideally this wouldn’t be drastically expensive either, as the wages I make in Thailand are not nearly what they would be back home.

Also, I have seen wifi signals from hotels, libraries, etc. before that one can access if one pays for it with a credit card. I thought that if I bought a wifi router for my own use, having one that others could connect to if they paid me for it would be nice too since that could help cover the cost of buying one in the 1st place. How would I go about setting up the payment part? Is there a specific kind of router that I would need to purchase in order to do this?

I want a wireless router that is fairly fast but don’t have a big range.

I don’t want my signal to reach my neighbors or any street hackers. I have about a 5,000 square foot house and don’t plan on using the computer outside.
