I have reset the network and the ipod touch and updated the software it still says no wifi and I can’t click on wifi in the general settings or network settings.

So does that mean it is built in with the 802.11b/g wireless card? In the device manager there is a little yellow cation sign, dosent say what the problem is, my laptop is a HP Compaq nc6230 and the adaptor name is Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection (Tri-mode 802.11a/b/g).
