Does linksys need to be installed on your computer for the wifi to work ?

I plugged in the blue internet cord to my computer and the router, the inter cord the the modem and the router, and all the other cords are plugged in. The only problem is, the CD drive on my computer WON’T open to im not able to put in the linksys cd that you agree to software use and everything and configuration. Do you NEED to put in that CD for the wifi to work ?

ok so i got the usb thingy right but i have vista so the cd doesent work so i went on a web site and downloaded the software but when its installing the software i says internet sharing error 6 then shuts down o and the software is for vista

I have tons of mail & want to take my laptop w/me & just read, delete, etc. my Email. I know I wouldn’t be able to respond or anything like that.
I recently downloaded the new Exp. 7 & uninstalled it twice b/c I couldn’t get web pages to open & wifi to work with it, & wifi still doesn’t work , & Dell didn’t have good news either….They want to reinstall my operating system :(

ok my wii is wirelessly connected to an acces point, but it is on one bar (if that). it does download the channels check weather/news but i havent yet downloaded the Internet channel!!! i really want to but i dont have any wii points!! so im wondering before i buy wii points to purchase wii internet channel i want to make sure it would work with a very low access point connection! and with a low connection can i play online games with people in a far range? so please answer me that!!

and my other question is would it be more worth it just to buy a Wi-Fi USB adapter that goes into my windows xp? and pls give prices of wat the wifi usb adapter would be.
and one last thing = my computer is in the basement of my house so would it find my wii on the second floor with out me having to move it???

I have an Intel Pro Wireless wifi card and a Belkin USB wifi stick, I connect to the internet by the Belkin stick and a BIG antenna but need to convert the Intel into an access point so I can connect my PSP to the internet or use a VNC server. The reason is that without the antenna, the signal I use to connect to the Internet can’t be received, so any other devices don’t receive the signal, that’s why I want the other cart to work as an access point repeating the signal. I’ve searched around but found no software to do this, at least with my Intel card. The lapto is a Dell 630m.

For a long time everything was just fine with my Wii and DS wifi connection. But one day it just stopped working for unexplained reasons. So I tried to uninstall it (the registration tool). I did, but then I couldn’t install it because it said “you must first uninstall the Nintendo WiFi USB connector registration tool” This kept happening, so I ran a system restore to go back to before I started having problems. Now the Icon is still there and all, but I can’t run it, and I can’t uninstall it (says “abnormal program termination”) How can I uninstall it?

PS I have tried with the disk in and out, and still no difference.
